AFRICAN SOCCER TOURNAMENT OF BC CANADA

Welcome to the official site of the African soccer tournament of British Columbia 2008 edition.

The tournament started as far back as year 1995 and the first winner of that inaugural tournament was team Zaire.According to the history of the tournament, Nigeria and Uganda has won it on 3 different occasions followed by Ghana and Somalia who won it on 2 different occasions.

The 2008 edition of the tournament was won by the team from Mozambique by penalty shoot out with team from Sierra Leone .The final was watched by a crowed estimated to be about 2,500 spectators at the Burnaby lake sports Complex.The events is a 2 day soccer events from Saturday July 12th to Sunday July13th 2008 starting from 9am till 9pm.

In 2008 the tournament was renamed African Canadian Soccer and Cultural Association.There was an election and the new President of the association is Patrick Obaze, The vice President is Bobson Sesay, Tresurer is Ocheng Lubayi,Secretary is Alex Touray, P.R.O is Dominique Useni, P.R.O advisor Adebo Mahmoud who is the sole organiser for the past 12years. Justus Mirember is the Entertainment official,Taiwo Easy is the new Mass mobilizer,Jean Jacque Bosco is the fundraiser for the association, Tavares Kudinda Assistance Secretary,Gibril Koroma as the media Communication, Tariku Tesfa as the New Generation and Youth official. and Ali Farah as the Coordinator.

With all these new official for the association, this year's tournament is a huge success , unlike all other previous tournaments where there is always arguements and disqualification of teams for malpractices and other violations there is nothing like that this year.The tournaments was sponsored by 42 companies this year.
